 Role of the PTA

  It was confirmed that the role of the PTA was to

 

  raise funds and hold events for the extras that the

 

  children could enjoy e.g. drum workshops, play

 

  equipment, discos etc. No monetary figure is set for

 

  the year but the aim is to raise as much as possible.

 

  The PTA also  provides a social network for the

 

  parents and staff of the Rosary School.

 Cheque Signatories

 Currently Rachael Freeman and Katie Glassonbury are

 

 the only signatories.

 

 It was discussed that another signatory should be

 

 taken on in case of safety reasons if the Chair and

 

 Treasurer were unavailable, however, no monies are

 

 to be spent with prior agreement.

 Church Liaison Officer

 

 Jo McLoughlin was assigned to be Church Liaison

 

 Officer for the School and Church. This role will

 

 help the relationship between Beeches Green

 

 Church and The Rosary when it comes to events

 

 such as bazaars etc.

  Cake Sale – Friday 23 October 2009

 

  To include a pumpkin exhibition and a toys and books

 

  sale to be held after school in the school hall. Rachael

 

  to confirm with Mrs Savory that this is acceptable.

 

  Lots of help and support was offered by all the

 

  committee members.

  Drop-in Meeting for all Committee Members -

 

  Friday 6  November 2009

 

   To be held between 2.00 – 3.30 pm at school in the

 

   Staff Room. This will be a very informal chat giving people the chance to socialise and get to know the PTA better.

 Polish Independence Day -

 

 Friday 10 November 2009

 

 The PTA to speak to school and help where needed

 

  should the school wish to arrange a Polish Awareness

   Christmas Fayre – Saturday 28 November 2009

 

  To be held in the afternoon in the hall with various

 

   stalls and attractions.  Sonia Harte to co-ordinate

 

   the event and keep the Chair and all committee

  Calendars and cards

 

  It was discussed having packs of Christmas Cards

 

   that the children had drawn pictures on should be

 

   printed and sold. Rachael Freeman needed to confirm

 

   this was Ok with Mrs Savory before going ahead and

 

   if so it was decided that one pack for each year of

 

   class year would be best and Rachael Underwood

 

   offered to investigate the cost of printing for this.

 Summer Fete – Saturday 19 June 2010

 

 It was confirmed that this event will go ahead on this

 

 date and everybody to think of ideas. Rachael Freeman

 Cattle Country – Thursday 22 July 2010

 

 This date has been confirmed and approved by the

 General Ideas

 

 The following ideas were suggested for the following

 

  events to raise funds:

 

 

·         An Indulgence Evening – featuring beauty therapists, pampering treatments etc.

 

·         Valentines Disco – fancy dress

 

·         100 club – lottery

 

·         DVD/Film evening for the children.

 

·         Christmas Fayre – chocolate tombola, home made cooking items, face painting.

 

·         Summer Fete – heroes theme, football tournament, bouncy castles (already booked), childrens entertainer.

 

 

 

Some of these ideas will be used in future events

  Governor Building/IT Fund

 

  Paula Smith gave an official letter to the PTA to

 

   thank them for £2000, which was donated to the

 

   Rosary Building and IT Fund from funds raised. This

 

   money redeemed £20,000, which was used for

 

   building the Pavillion and the purchase of the play

 

   equipment etc.

 Welcome Letter

 It was discussed that a welcome letter be written to

 the new Reception class parents to raise awareness of

 the PTA and its role and to ensure that they feel

 welcome. It was felt this was important due to the

 forthcoming Christmas Church Bazaar.

 PTA Accounts

 The accounts need to be signed off from 2008/2009.

 Rachael Freeman will take the books to the accountant

 Fund Update from PTA to Parents

  On the return of the account books it was agreed that

 

  an update of the funds raised and how it has been

 

  used should be included in a future PTA Newsletter.

 PTA Folder in School Reception

 

 It was agreed that the agendas, minutes and

 

  newsletters should be available for everyone in a PTA

 

  Folder situated in the reception area.

 Date of Next Meeting

 

 It was decided that the PTA should meet on the

 

 second Monday of each month.

 

 Monday 9 November 2009 at 8.00 pm at the Nelson

 

 would be the next meeting date. Please try to be

 

 present there will be lots to discuss
