27 Apr 2007 - Letter from Acting Head
27 April 2007
Dear Parents
I would like to welcome you all back to the school for the beginning of what promises to be a truly busy and eventful time. I hope that each and everyone of you, and your children, had a restful and enjoyable holiday. I know many of you managed to visit church to relive and to celebrate the momentous events of Easter and that is just marvellous.
I am delighted that Miss Taylor has felt well enough to return to work after her recent illness. It may take her a little while to get fully back into the swing of things. I am sure that you will join me in wishing her well for the term ahead.
We are coming up to that time of the year when our children in various classes are carrying out tests and examinations. I hope that you will keep them in your thoughts and in your prayers. I'm sure that each and every child will try his or her very best and no more can be asked of them.
Sadly I have to inform our Year 6 parents that their children will not be able to attend the usual Catholic Primary Schools' Leavers' Service in Clifton Cathedral on June 21st. The children will be away on their Residential Visit at the time. This visit was arranged before we knew the date for the Leavers' Service at Clifton. I can assure you that we would not have deliberately booked an educational visit at this time had we known the date of the Leavers' Service. I regret the fact that our Year 6 children will miss this important event.
I am hopeful that by next week I will be in a position to give you information about the results of our efforts to find a replacement teacher for Mrs Jones. We will be interviewing next Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please pray that we will be given the wisdom by the Holy Spirit to make the right choice.
The governors have been continuing their efforts to appoint a new Headteacher for September. They will be interviewing tomorrow and will be able to provide you with information about the outcome early next week.
Paula, our cook, wanted me to remind you that she still makes and sells little cartons of fruit for the children on a daily basis. They are available from the kitchen area during morning play.
Children in Year 2 have completed a set of swimming lessons and will be presented with their hard earned and well-deserved certificates on Monday 30th April at the 9:05am assembly. Parents are welcome to attend this assembly and presentation.
Regards
Mr H McAllister
